The Philippines is the fourth in the world when it comes to the number of victims of child prostitution. This is according to the data available from UNICEF. The country's Department of Social Welfare and Development estimates the number of shemale sex doll prostitutes to be anywhere between 60,000 and 600,000. Exactly how many are the actual victims of child prostitution in the Philippines, it is not really certain.
Poverty is the driving force behind the problem of child prostitution in the Philippines. Because of the need to survive, some children make the decision to sell their bodies. There are some, however, who do not get to make the decision at all. They are either sold into it by their own parents or guardians, or are deceived by traffickers with promises of good jobs in the city only to fall into prostitution dens. Children as young as ten years old are initiated into the sex trade, but there are cases where children as young as four are offered up for sex to those who want to buy it. There is no need to embellish the fact that victims of child prostitution face many perils to their persons. It is not a special problem that only the victims in the Philippines have. Having to work as sex slaves at such a young age and with multiple partners a day damages the victim's body. The child's body is not yet capable of functioning sexually. The damage can lead to complications in fertility and problems with her reproductive health later on when she grows older. There is also the high risk of exposure to celebrity sex dolls transmitted diseases, not to mention HIV/AIDS. Child prostitutes are also vulnerable to physical maltreatment. If they refuse to work, they get beaten by their pimps or handlers, locked up, even starved or raped. The trauma that the victims have faced in this manner will later on lead to depression and other psychological ailments, to feelings of guilt and shame, and to extremely low self-esteem. Rehabilitation is the only way to rescue a person who has fallen victim to child prostitution. But the road to complete rehabilitation is always a steep, uphill battle. Victims of child prostitution most of the time have lost their trust on adults, so it would be hard to reach out to them. But it starts from there.
